Southend Airport confirms launch of domestic flights
London Southend Airport will have direct flights to Glasgow from next month when it launches its new service.
Fares will start from £29.99 one way and there will be up to 16 flights a week. Services will be operated by Flybe aircraft.
The airport confirmed it would also launch flights from Southend to Manchester and Dublin after Ryanair announced its intention to suspend some of its winter flights, including domestic services.
Glyn Jones, CEO of Stobart Aviation, owner of London Southend Airport said: "We are delighted to start flying these routes and to be offering these daily flights.
"With London airport capacity feeling significant strain we offer a genuinely better alternative as we are a faster and easier airport; which is particularly suited to offer domestic connectivity where time is of the essence for passengers."
