Southwest Airlines mulling red-eye flights
Southwest Airlines could be about to make a big change.
Southwest CEO Bob Jordan hinted it could add red-eye flights to its schedules for the first time.
This would be a first in its half-century history.
Jordan told the Dallas Morning News it would be a ‘logical evolution’ for the airline.
It has the sufficient aircraft for long overnight flights and there is customer demand, Jordan said.
The airline operates some transcontinental and West Coast-Hawaii routes which could be deployed as red-eye flights.
Southwest also flies some longer flights to Mexico, Central America, and the Caribbean.
