Southwest Airlines offering reward points for PreCheck delays

Friday, 22 May, 2018 0

Southwest Airlines has proposed a sweet deal for frequent fliers.

If they wait longer than 10 minutes to pass TSA PreCheck security lines the airline will hand out 2,500 Rapid Rewards Bonus Points – no questions asked.

Of course passengers need to be enrolled in the TSA PreCheck program and it will be available at just one airport to begin with – Oakland International.

The pilot promotion will run through the end of June at Oakland and may be expanded to other airports.

Should the wait in line be in excess of 10 minutes, customers are requested to go to the Southwest counter and inform an agent who will hand over a points voucher.

However, Southwest is confident this is rarely likely to happen as it flies out of Oakland Airport’s Terminal 2, and is the only airline operating from there.
