Southwest Airlines launches its own holiday packages
Southwest Airlines is proposing to its customers to book their vacations with the launch of its own in-house packaged vacations product—”Getaways by Southwest“. These vacation packages, sold and serviced by Southwest, offer signature flexibility and benefits for their customers.
Getaways By Southwest is part of the airline’s strategy to generate new sources of income as vacation products are seen by the industry as a lucrative money-making activity.
“Getaways by Southwest expands what customers love about Southwest—flexibility, an award-winning loyalty program, and great perks—to the vacation experience,” said Phil Gouel, Vice President Product Development at Southwest Airlines in a release. “This end-to-end vacation package, coupled with our Customer Service, is perfect for travelers seeking a convenient, valuable, and curated vacation experience.”
Customers who book a vacation package through Getaways by Southwest can check two bags for free (weight and size limits apply). They will also earn five Rapid Rewards points per dollar spent on bookings.
If plans change, customers can cancel their packages and receive vacation travel credits, valid for 18 months. Travelers can use these credits to book a future holiday from Southwest. When applying for a new Getaway package, change fees won’t apply.
Getaways offers bundled packages including air, hotel, car, and ground transportation options. Customers can travel to the places they want. Such as Las Vegas, Orlando, Hawaii, Cancun, Punta Cana, and Montego Bay.
