Southwest denies banning women too pretty to fly

In the wake of widely circulating rumors that Southwest Airlines banned two passengers because they were too good looking, the airline issued a statement to “set the record straight.”

The two 18-year-old girls have suggested they were too pretty and that the Southwest flight attendants didn’t like them. They said they had been banned for life from Southwest flights.

Southeast says during on Flight 3600 from Tampa Bay to Los Angeles, two women became angry because a lavatory was closed. The pair banged on the door and then became verbally abusive, the airline says, citing other witnesses who had the same account.

“When Our flight crew addressed the situation, the two customers continued their threatening behavior and abusive language.  At this time, the flight crew requested that local police meet the flight upon its arrival in Los Angeles,” said the airline.

The police questioned several witnesses. “We did not ban these Customers from flying Southwest Airlines,” the airline said.

“We would have gone out of business a long time ago if we discriminated against beautiful women — or anyone else for that matter.  We carry almost 100 million customers a year, and they are all beautiful in our eyes,” Southwest added.
