Southwest planning Denver-Puerto Vallarta flights
More daily nonstop flights from Denver International Airport to Puerto Vallarta are on the horizon following an application by Southwest Airlines to operate the route from November.
If given the go-ahead from regulators Southwest will join United Airlines and Frontier Airlines in offering nonstop flights between the two cities.
Southwest, the second largest carrier at Denver also operates to San Jose del Cabo and Cancun from DIA.
It is also starting Puerto Vallarta flights from Orange County in June.
"Our new daily flight from the Rockies to the Mexican Pacific coastline will give our Colorado customers as well as connecting passengers quick access to another international destination," said Steven Swan, Southwest’s director of international planning.
"We expect strong demand from both leisure and business customers for this route to the growing region that straddles both Jalisco and Nayarit."
