Spaceman to speak at ASTA event
Captain Jim Lovell, Commander of the ill-fated Apollo 13 space mission, has been named as a speaker at the American Society of Travel Agent’s Congress in November.
Mr Lovell, whose appearance is sponsored by American Express, will address delegates during the general session at the World Travel Congress on November 5.
During the Apollo 13 mission in 1970, the spacecraft’s oxygen system failed. Captain Lovell and his crew successfully modified the lunar module into a lifeboat, using the sun to navigate their way home.
ASTA’s 72nd World Travel Congress takes place from 3-8 November in Honolulu.
