Spanish police board Ryanair flight after passengers run amok
Police boarded a Ryanair flight to remove a number of passengers after they had allegedly threatened crew and fellow passengers on the flight from Prestwick in Scotland to Ibiza.
Up to 30 men ran amok on the flight on Saturday, according to a report in the Daily Record.
At one point the pilot threatened to diver the flight to Paris, but it landed safely in Ibiza where Spanish police boarded and detained a number of individuals.
Ryanair has apologised to passengers. In a statement the airline said: "Ryanair crew operating flight FR694 requested police assistance on arrival at Ibiza Airport after a group of passengers became disruptive in-flight.
"Police removed and detained a number of individuals from the aircraft before other passengers disembarked.
"Ryanair sincerely apologises to other passengers for any inconvenience caused, but the safety of our passengers, crew and aircraft is our number one priority. This is now a matter for the police."
