Spear Travels buys Advantage member
Spear Travels has welcomed its 11th branch with the acquisition of Advantage member Vale Travel, in Dorset.
The independent chain says it plans to re-brand the retail outlet in Sturminster Newton to Spear Travel from March 31 and retain all staff.
The announcement follows its purchase of Tickets Anywhere last month.
Spear Travels managing director Peter Cookson said: “We have a growth strategy to open branches in affluent market towns across the UK.
“This could be through acquiring existing travel businesses or by green field openings – as long as the location fits our retail footprint.”
The company, which was established in 1983, has shops across North Yorkshire, The Midlands, Essex and Oxfordshire as well as a network of home-based agents.
