Specialist operator acquired by private equity group
Specialist operator On The Go Tours has sold a majority stake to a private equity investor.
Founders Jay Lakshman and Scott Braidwood have agreed to sell to Alcuin Capital Partners for an undisclosed sum.
They remain shareholders and will stay on the board.
Braidwood described the partnership as ‘absolutely the right fit’.
Managing director Carl Cross said: "After having grown the business significantly over the past three years, this new investment is the start of a new phase in the life of On The Go Tours.
"It will allow us to take important steps to elevate the business to the next level. My senior leadership team and I are invested in the business and incredibly excited about our future path."
The company was set up in 1998 and now has offices in Brisbane and Johannesburg in addition to its London head office. It also has representation in Canada, New Zealand and the US.
It now offers tours to 60 countries, with five product ranges from budget to upmarket.
