Budget carrier Spirit Airlines is adding more flights to the Sunshine State and beyond from Baltimore.

It announced an increase to four daily flights from BWI to Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International from April 22.

There will also be additional daily frequencies to Orlando.

From May 21, Spirit is going double daily out of Baltimore to San Juan Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport in Puerto Rico, and will also begin flying to El Salvador International Airport the same day.

The San Juan service launched less than a year ago.

The airline also serves San Salvador from Fort Lauderdale, Orlando and Houston.

"Baltimore Washington International Airport is a key component of the Spirit’s route network. We’re adding nonstop flights from BWI to take our guests where they want to go," said Spirit Airlines VP of network planning, John Kirby.

Spirit is the second largest carrier at BWI and from May it will serve a total of 26 destinations.
