Spirit flight evacuated at Detroit Metro Airport after bomb threat
Spirit Airlines passengers suffered disruption after a bomb threat evacuation at Detroit Metro Airport.
The plane was evacuated just before taking off for Los Angeles.
The Airport Authority said the plane taxied to a secure area of the airport and all passengers were deplaned safely and taken to the terminal building.
The nature of the bomb threat hasn’t been disclosed.
“Law enforcement was requested to meet Spirit Airlines Flight 2145 prior to departure from Detroit due to a potential security issue,” the airline said.
“The aircraft taxied to a remote location, and Guests were safely deplaned and transported back to the terminal. “
“The incident remains under investigation,” a Wayne County Airport Authority Emergency & Support Services spokesperson said.
