SriLankan Airlines codeshares with Gulf Air
Flag carrier SriLankan Airlines has begun a codesharing pact with Bahrain based Gulf Air, offering enhanced connection between South Asia, the Gulf and Europe.
The agreement which is now effective, sees SriLankan Airlines’ ‘UL’ code placed on Gulf Air-operated flights from Bahrain to Colombo, Athens and Larnaca in Cyprus.
It follows the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the two airlines.
Gulf Air will also market and sell SriLankan Airlines’ flights from Colombo to Bahrain.
"With our strong network in the Europe and North Africa, SriLankan Airlines can now offer more destinations to their passengers through our flights with one stop in our fast and efficient hub," said Kresimir Kucko, Gulf Air CEO.
Gulf Air’s service to Casablanca will also be added to the codesharing partnership.
SriLankan operates daily from Colombo to Bahrain International Airport.
