STA Travel looks to widen its reach with new high street store
STA Travel has opened its first store in St Albans, widening its reach beyond its traditional student roots.
The store, in the city centre, is dual-branded with its sister company, long-haul specialist Bridge the World.
"We’ve chosen St Albans as it bridges a gap in our network in Hertfordshire plus it has a diverse population: a high number of young professionals, and an affluent and well-travelled demographic, this is why we’ve chosen it to be one of our dual-branded stores in the UK," said Jackie Knell, STA Tavel sales director.
Last year STA Travel opened five new stores, and this latest opening takes the total to 51 in the UK.
A further two or three new retail stores are planned for 2015.
"We’re delighted to be continuing to expand our physical retail presence on the high streets of the UK. It’s an important part of our distribution strategy and one that is growing, rather than receding, despite the fact we are catering for the most tech-savvy travelling generation ever," said Knell.
