Stabbed tourists ‘mistaken for Americans’
Two tourists in Egypt have reportedly been stabbed – because their attacker thought they were Americans. According to the BBC News website, an Australian and a Norwegian were stabbed by Hussein Ahmed Hassan when he attacked a group of tourists in the historical centre of Cairo. The man reportedly told police that he was “enraged” by recent events in the Middle East, including Israel’s “aggression” towards Palestinians and the United States’ troops activities in Iraq. The tourists are reported to be in a stable condition. Report by Tim Gillett, News From Abroad
