State Dept. issues alert for US citizens abroad
The State Department has issued a new global terrorism alert for U.S. citizens following the attack on the shopping mall in Nairobi, Kenya.
A "worldwide caution" issued Wednesday underlined concerns about terrorist threats to U.S. citizens in Europe, Asia, Africa and the Middle East, including suicide operations, assassinations, kidnappings, hijackings and bombings.
It listed high-profile sporting events, residential areas, business offices, hotels, clubs, restaurants, places of worship, schools, public areas, shopping malls and other tourist destinations where Americans gather in large numbers as possible targets.
