Steve Wynn sues Wynn Resorts to block sexual misconduct report
Steve Wynn has filed a lawsuit against his former company and the Massachusetts Gaming Commission seeking to block the release of a report which details his alleged sexual misconduct.
Wynn claims Wynn Resorts shared hundreds of documents with the MGC which are bound by attorney-client confidentiality.
He and Wynn Resorts agreed to mount a joint defense against a string of sexual harassment allegations.
Wynn shared information with company executives that he says would normally be kept private, which was then disclosed to the Massachusetts gaming regulator.
The MGC conducted an investigation following a vetting process for the company’s Encore Boston Harbor casino where information was not disclosed regarding multiple allegations, including a $7.5 million paternity lawsuit settlement to a former Wynn Las Vegas employee.
Wynn Resorts later shared this information at the ‘unrelenting behest’ of MGC investigators.
The billionaire’s attorney requested a copy of MGC’s report before it is released in December but this was declined.
The investigation was initially conducted to see if Wynn executives were aware of the full extent of the allegations when it applied for a Massachusetts casino license.
The MGC said it will mount a ‘vigorous defense’ against Steve Wynn’s ‘established litigious tendencies’.
