Storm warning for Shanghai
Visitors to eastern China, including Shanghai, are being warned to prepare for hazardous weather as a tropical storm is likely to make landfall on Friday.
Typhoon Chan-Hom, is expected to skirt round northern Taiwan before heading to eastern China, bringing winds of up to 135 mph and heavy rain.
Forecasters said it would travel precariously close to the coast of China, possibly reaching Shanghai.
The Foreign Office said visitors should monitor the progress of approaching storms and follow the advice of local authorities
