Strike to hit short-haul flights tomorrow
Passengers taking short-haul flights tomorrow will be hit by further disruption due to the latest strikes in France.
Both British Airways and easyJet said flights to France and other short-haul destinations could be affected as air traffic controllers join the industrial action.
A general strike will also hit transport within France, including to and from airports.
EasyJet said: "We are doing everything possible to minimise the impact of the strike on our customers, and will communicate to affected customers directly via SMS on the details provided at the time of booking.
"We advise all passengers to allow plenty of extra time to get to the airport and consider alternative transport options where possible, as public transport services might be affected by the strike."
BA said: "Unfortunately in addition to cancelling some flights to and from France, other short-haul flights may also experience some disruption, given how many flights would normally use French airspace.
"We will be using larger aircraft, where possible, to help affected customers and are doing all we can to reduce the levels of disruption.
"We will publish our revised flight schedule for Thursday on Wednesday afternoon once we have the final details from the French authorities as to which flights can still operate."
Due to the uncertainty, BA is allowing passengers due to fly to France or to Madrid or Barcelona tomorrow to fly today instead or to rebook for a later flight, up to Sunday, May 22.
