Strikes in Brussels impact Eurostar trains today
Eurostar has been forced to cancel services to Brussels due to a national rail strike in Belgium today (Friday).
The rail operator will only operate one London-Brussels train (the 19:34) and is working to a reduced timetable from London-Lille.
Passengers are being offered the chance to cancel, free of charge, or change their booking, free of charge, for an alternative date within 120 days, subject to availability in the same class of travel.
The majority of international high-speed trains between Belgium, the UK, France, Germany and Holland have been cancelled due to the industrial action.
The strike, due to end tonight, is over working conditions.
Eurostar has also notified customers that engineering works will mean a revised timetable on the weekends of January 16-17 and 30-31.
"This is while engineers replace the points in the Channel Tunnel, meaning we can only run trains through one of the two tunnels we normally use," it said.
"Unfortunately, until we know the exact details of the work and which trains we can run, we won’t be able to offer any tickets on these dates."
