Study reveals where Canadians want to travel
The top five areas Canadians want to visit in the US are Hawaii and Honolulu, US national parks, New York City and New Orleans.
Also scoring high on their list in a recent study were Las Vegas, San Francisco, Orlando, the Florida Keys, Los Angeles, Alaska and Miami.
One half of Canadian leisure travelers took one or more international trips with the US the most frequently visited destination, according to a study by Yesawich, Pepperdine, Brown & Russell.
Apart from the US, about two third of Canadian leisure travelers say they want to visit Europe. Almost two thirds also yearn for the Caribbean.
The Canadian leisure travelers are important in part because they generate $10 billion in travel expenditures.
“This new study will enable organizations and destinations serving Canadian travelers to make more informed strategic decisions on how best to cultivate this key leisure market now and in future years,” said Paul Clark, director of strategic services with InterVISTAS Consulting Inc.
