Sun comes out for TAGS competition
TAGS made its debut at East Sussex National last week, yet another new venue for the society.
An early rain shower did little to dampen the enthusiasm of TAGS members with the majority of the round being played in glorious sunshine making for a great day’s golf.
Med Hotels’ Mark Nisbet took away a trio of fine wines and champagne with a winning score of 38 points, playing off a handicap of 15.
Under TAGS Society rules he will be cut by two shots for the next event at Chart Hills.
A closely contested team competition was won by the team led by Ben Smart of Mondial, with a best 2 from 4 score of 89 points.
Nearest the pins were won by David Elstob, Future Travel Group and TAGS Chairman Giles Harper, with longest drives being won by Russell Parr of Attraction World and new TAGS member Adam Queiros of American Express Travel.
The leading guest score was posted by Ben Smarts guest, Gary Philpott with 34 points.
The two’s kitty of £40 was taken home by Angus Chisholm of C&M Recruitment, an excellent and immediate return on a two pound investment!
In all, four new TAGS members made their debut at East Sussex National, so a very warm welcome to Grant Smith, Adam Queiros, Paul Frost and Jim Long.
Next stop is another new TAGS venue being the fantastic course at Chart Hills in Kent on Tuesday June 28 for the TAGS Summer meeting.
TAGS has secured discounted rates of £83 for members and £93 for members guests. There are just 36 places available for the day so watch out for more details and book early.
