Sun Country Airlines launching seasonal fights to Belize, St Kitts

Sun Country Airlines is boosting its winter seasonal schedule with two new sunshine vacation routes.

It is adding weekly Saturday flights to Belize and St. Kitts in time for a warm weather Christmas vacation.

Both routes operate from December to late April from Sun Country’s main hub Minneapolis-St. Paul.

Both routes are a first for MSP.

"Belize and St. Kitts and Nevis are amazing beach destinations that we have no doubt Minnesotans will be excited to flock to in the winter," said Ben Brookman, network and pricing VP at Sun Country Airlines.

Minneapolis becomes the most northerly departure point in the US Midwest region for a direct connection to Belize, said Karen Bevans, Belize’s director of tourism.

She sees it as ‘an area of the U.S. that can really benefit from easy access to a tropical Belizean vacation when winter comes.’

MSP will become the 10th US airport with nonstop service to Belize.

Since announcing its ongoing transition to a low cost carrier business model, Sun Country has been ramping up its network, including more than a dozen routes outside its traditional MSP base.
