SunExpress to launch new Turkey flights
Turkish-German airline SunExpress is to launch a new route between London and Antalya next March.
The carrier, which is a joint venture between Lufthansa and Turkish Airlines, will operate three flights a week from Gatwick from 28 March, increasing to daily from 28 May.
Gatwick Head of Airline Relations Stephen King said that despite the pandemic slots at the airport remain in high demand.
SunExpress also has flights from Gatwick to Malatya in Turkey and from Manchester to Antalya.
The UK Foreign Office is currently advising against travel to Turkey and tourists who do visit the country will have to isolate when they return to the UK.
There is no requirement to present a negative Covid test on arrival in Turkey, but all visitors are subject to a medical evaluation and anyone showing symptoms of the virus will have to have a Covid test.
