Sunny green santa for Christmas
SUN programme offers a worthwhile fun free festive gift with a message
"The 2015 Paris Accords set in train, a 3-decade, low carbon transformation, based on widespread recognition that "Climate Change is existential".
This is the reason for the creation of SUN – the Strong Universal Network – a movement of increasingly engaged industry, government and civil society partners – focussed on climate resilience as a priority. The organization is creating a platform for tracking, focussing and sharing climate response innovation as it intersects with travel."
SUN will eventually be a global network of prefabricated solar enabled and cloud connected, action learning centres. It will link travel stakeholders in a destination focused, climate resilience network, targeting this matter within the overall framework of Sustainable Development Goals.
The first SUN Centre will be established in 2017 in the National Park Hoge Kempen in Limburg, Belgium, with the support of the University of Hasselt. The organisers plan a regional network around the world in 2018 and a country based system by 2020.
To introduce SUN to the Travel & Tourism sector, they are presenting "Green Santa" a Climate Change primer in the form of a comic book. It is co-authored by Felix Dodds and issued under the auspices of the UN Secretary General. It is designed to appeal to adults as well as kids and explains the reasons why Climate is such an existential issue.
Copies can be downloaded from http://www.thesunprogram.com where you can also find more background on SUN, its goals and how to engage.
