Sunvil Holidays has confirmed that boss Noel Josephides is to take up a part-time non-executive role at a start-up charter airline.
But the company also clarified that Josephides remains “firmly in his position” as managing director of the specialist tour operator.
Josephides is to become non-executive chairman of Viking UK "in due course, once the company has started to trade,” said Sunvil operations director Chris Wright.
“This will be a one-day-a-month role, in common with most non-exec chairmanships,” he added.
“Noel Josephides has run Sunvil for 40 years and we are glad to confirm that there is no change to his role.
“Many travel industry people seem to have read a headline in the trade press and to have assumed that he is leaving Sunvil to join Viking, the charter airline, which is not the case,” said Wright.
