Super jumbo impounded at JFK after collision
An Air France A380 has been impounded at New York’s JFK Airport after it slammed into a small Delta Air Lines commuter plane.
The wing of the French double-decker knocked the 70-seat Delta jet as it was taxiing, spinning the smaller aircraft round almost 90 degrees.
No injuries have been reported but the Air France jet has been impounded by US authorities investigating the collision, which was captured on amateur video and can be seen here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ayCWSm1f9qk
Last November, an Air France A380 was temporarily taken out of service after its tail was knocked by the wingtip of an A330, also operated by Air France, at Paris’ Charles de Gaulle airport.
