Superbreak bosses Nick Cust and Mark Wray are to step down at the end of 2009 after 25 years with the domestic operator.

The joint managing directors of the hotel breaks division of parent company Holidaybreak, are to retire on December 31.

A search is underway for a new managing director for Superbreak, which Cust joined in 1985.

Cust is also stepping down from the board of Holidaybreak at the end of the year.

Both will work with the company on a consultancy basis.

The hotel breaks division comprises Superbreak (UK) and Bookit (Holland) and ticket agent West End Theatre Bookings.

Group chieg executice Carl Michel said: “Mark and Nick have provided immense service, both to the Holidaybreak Group and to the UK leisure industry over the last quarter of a century and indeed Nick was awarded an OBE in the 2009 New Year’s Honours List in recognition of his services to tourism.

“They can both be justifiably proud of all that they have achieved in that time.

“They have huge experience and I am delighted that they have agreed to work with us on a consultancy basis following their retirement.

“We extend our deep and sincere thanks for all their hard work during this time and wish them all the best for the future.”
