Superbreak pushes for big increase in short breaks
Superbreak is aiming to quadruple its overseas short break bookings next year with the launch of its flight inclusive packages online.
Previously, these were only bookable via the operator’s calls centre.
The operator said putting the flight inclusive packages online will provide agents with an easy to use, one stop shop for short breaks to cities and beaches.
Sales director Jane Atkins said: "The overseas short break market is huge with more than eight million trips taken each year, so for both agents and ourselves the sales opportunities are vast.
"We launched our flight inclusive packages in February 2012 and they were initially sold through our call centre so we could assess the likely demand, as this was our first entry into the flight packaging market.
"Our product has been well received by agents, but they were keen to see it online and we have been working hard to deliver an easy to use intuitive system to them."
She said aiming for a four-fold increase in bookings was not unrealistic. "We put our Eurostar packages online in November 2011 and in the last 12 months have more than quadrupled our bookings, so we are confident that the same will happen with our flight inclusive packages.
"Agents trust us and we are a known brand to them, so this simply gives them even more to sell in a much easier, safer and reliable environment."
In the future, Superbreak is also looking to add transfers and car hire online.
