Surfer dead in WA shark attack
A New Zealand born surfer has been killed in a shark attack in Western Australia.
Steven Payne, 37 is still missing but presumed dead.
He was in the water at a remote beach when the attack happened.
Part of the incident was caught on drone footage which apprently showed a shark around a large cloud of blood in the water.
Later a rescue team found the man’s surfboard with bite marks.
WA police said a large search operation has failed to find the body.
Payne lived in Geelong and was several weeks into a long road trip in Western Australia.
It is the fourth shark attack death in the past seven years in the area.
