Surprise: Agent use is up
The use of travel agents, at least in Canada, is on the upswing, according to a Canadian Travel Distribution Report.
The study found that more than three in four Canadians planning an outbound trip this winter intend to use travel agents. The report found that such usage had increased since 9-11.
The report also revealed that more Canadians are also buying their outbound trips on-line. Nearly three in four in the survey said they plan to research their winter trip on-line; nearly half planned to buy at least part of their trip off a website.
The most popular website was Expedia.ca.
The number of packages Canadians planned to purchase also increased, by 18% for the coming winter.
