Survey finds “naughty” hotel confessions
A severed finger, marijuana, false teeth and an “intimacy aid” were among the bizarre objects found left in hotel rooms by respondents to a survey by www.kayak.com.
Kayak, which calls itself “the world’s largest travel search engine,” polled 1,141 travellers, who shared naughty hotel confessions that would “make the bellhop blush,” the site says.
Almost two-thirds admitted they have booked a hotel room purely for a romantic rendezvous, but at what stage in a relationship is it OK to check-in together for an intimate weekend?
Forty-five percent of respondents said after just three months, while a more cautious 27% would wait six months before sneaking away with a significant other.
Only 9% have ever booked a hotel room by the hour.
Globetrotting celebrity couple Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie were the most desired hotel roommates for nearly 58% of respondents and Super Bowl/ Supermodel duo Tom Brady and Gisele Bundchen came in a distant second with less than 19%.
US travellers are not quite as naughty when it comes to helping themselves to souvenirs before checking out and while more than two-thirds admitted to taking toiletries, very few took anything else from a hotel room.
Only 4% admitted to swiping hotel towels.
When asked for the strangest thing found in a hotel room, the most frequent responses included: –
** other people (in various states of undress);
** bugs – not sure if this meant electronic or the crawling kind;
** toenail clippings;
** used prophylactics;
** pot;
** porn; and
** poop.
Believe it or not, more than one respondent found a prosthetic leg, severed fingers and false teeth.
