Sydney getting first Indigo Hotel
InterContinental Hotels Group has announced the signing of its first Indigo Hotel for Sydney.
Hotel Indigo Sydney Central becomes the third Australian location for the boutique brand and is slated to open in 2021.
Signed in partnership with Watson Elite, Hotel Indigo Sydney Central will feature 168 rooms and amenities including a restaurant, café and bar, rooftop terraces for meetings and events, and a fitness centre.
"Hotel Indigo Sydney Central will providie its signature ‘effortless authenticity’ to guests visiting Australia’s largest business and tourist hub. It’s also the third Hotel Indigo signing for Australia, demonstrating the appetite for a hotel that offers a local and unique experience as well as the reassurance of a global hotel chain," said Abhijay Sandilya, IHG’s senior director, development – Australasia & South Pacific.
"We expect Hotel Indigo Sydney Central to become one of the city’s leading boutique hotels, making its mark thanks to its unique, eclectic style."
Located in the lively Haymarket district, will have a typically vibrant art-inspired design showcasing custom pieces from local artists, photographers and furniture makers.
"With a prime asset in the middle of the central precinct, we knew we needed a hotel brand that would build on the best of the area and deliver an outstanding guest experience. The Hotel Indigo brand is the perfect fit," Cruz Chen, Watson Elite CEO said.
The Hotel Indigo brand was launched in Asia Pacific two years ago.
Locations already open in the region include Bangkok, Singapore and Bali.
