Sydney to see first Singapore Airlines A380
Sydney will see the first commercial landing of the Airbus A380 mega jumbo before the end of the year.
Singapore Airlines will receive the first of the much-delayed A380 deliveries in October. The airline has confirmed that it will be placed on the Singapore-Sydney sector soon afterwards.
SIA’s A380 services to London will launch at the beginning of 2008.
SIA has revealed some of the details of its interior fit-out of the A380 but an airline spokesman said there were more innovations to come.
Among the features expected on the A380 are a 35in-wide leather first class seat, and a 30in wide business class seat. Both first and business class seats will be capable of reclining fully flat.
All passengers will have access to the new version of the airline’s KrisWorld IFE service, offering over 1,000 on-demand options, along with spreadsheet, presentation and word-processing office tools.
USB ports give the user additional access to the system, and the handset is mounted on the seatback for easier access.
