Taiwan to limit theme park capacity for Chinese New Year
Taiwan will impose limits on attendance at theme parks and scenic spots during the Lunar New Year holidays.
Taiwan’s Tourism Bureau said attendance limits of 50% will be in force at 13 national scenic areas and 25 theme parks across the country.
Within specific scenic areas, limits will be based on normal attendance numbers at indoor facilities and a minimum 1.5-metre gap for social distancing at outdoor attractions.
Tourism Bureau head Chuang Ching-cheng said extra monitoring of attendance numbers will take place at popular theme parks such as Leofoo Village Theme Park, LIHPAO Discovery Land and Formosan Aboriginal Culture Village.
The Tourism Bureau reminded all visitors to wear a mask at all times in public.
The measure will be in effect from 10 February until 16 February.
At attractions, an advisory system will warn visitors that certain areas are quickly reaching their maximum capacity and it advises people to visit other areas to avoid overcrowding, Chueng said.
