Tapestry MD thanks staff and the CAA
Tapestry Holidays managing director Nick Wrightman has praised staff and the CAA for their support following the company’s failure.
Speaking to Travelmole, Wrightman said all of the tour operator’s staff chose to stay and help deal with forward bookings after they were informed of the news.
“Not only that, three staff who were on holiday, including one who had just recovered from radio therapy treatment, came in to the office to help out,” said Wrightman.
“I would also like to thank the CAA team for their support. They’ve taken so much pressure off.”
Wrightman, who founded the company 15 years ago, refuted reports in a national newspaper that Tapestry was operating with too much capacity.
“We had been cutting capacity over the last few years due to trading conditions,” he said.
He said it was too early to decide on future plans but said he had already received from industry colleagues saying they would like to help out.
“If there’s a place for us somewhere, I’d be very happy,” he said.
