TCO joins growing list of travel information providers

Friday, 27 Jun, 2012 0

There are any number of small but growing companies offering travel advice,  and many share with Travel Curious Often such features as maps, videos and links to hotels and restaurants or all the usual recommendations. But the TCO site goes further in offering unusual but useful features such as a pronunciation tab.

The guide offers French, German and other native speakers reciting the names of local places to help travelers acclimate anywhere.

The feature continues to "fascinate readers," but it’s not the only reason the site is celebrating its first full year of existence.

The site based perhaps in an unlikely place, Pensacola, Fla., says it offers readers "iconic landmarks, spectacular scenery" and even celebrity sightings. Past stops have included New York, Peru and Hong Kong.

Other features that have contributed to its popularity include recipes from food bloggers and interviews with celebrity chefs such as John Besh. Other features such as "Curious & Thirsty" bring readers to vodka distilleries in Poland and wineries throughout the Napa Valley.

"Publisher Marla Norman-Freytag continues to scout out unique

properties to present in Hotel Finds," the site says.

The Irish government recently named TCO among the best travel magazines.
