Teletext Holidays has strongly denied being subject to a bid from Icelolly.com.
Describing the claims as untrue,Teletext confirmed that there has been no contact with Icelolly.com.
Repeated attempts by TravelMole to speak to anyone at Bradford-based Icelolly.com for comment proved unsuccessful.
This followed Teletext releasing a statement saying that a press release was issued yesterday by Icelolly.com stating that the company had bid for Teletext and/or Teletext Holidays, part of the Daily Mail group.
Teletext managing director Mike Stewart said: “I am surprised that such an obviously false statement was issued and concerned that any professional management team would allow this to happen.
“Teletext recently reaffirmed its commitment to the travel industry in a major restructuring which is being carried out to enable further and faster investment in the brand and in the travel market.”
