Teletext Holidays sees no slowing in demand
More than 300,000 calls for Teletext Holidays’ digital TV and online advertisers were generated last month.
The digital Holidays on TV service saw a 13% increase in calls compared to the same month last year, while unique visitors to teletextholidays.co.uk rose by 14% which resulted in a 23% increase in website call responses, according to the company.
Numbers so far for February also indicate that this month will also generate high call volumes.
Since a decision at the beginning of January to reduce the number of advertisers allowed on its all-inclusive TV pages, Teletext has seen daily call volumes on this section increase dramatically. This section has “substantially out performed” initial targets across both the digital and analogue platforms.
The Majorca, Spain and Canaries TV sections will also shortly follow suit and undergo a reduction in the number of advertisers appearing in each of the sections.
Teletext Holidays managing director Matt Cheevers said: “Digital and online call volumes have exceeded all expectations and this trend looks as though it will continue throughout February.
“Despite all the publicity surrounding the credit crunch, call volumes demonstrate that people are still determined to take a holiday this year and at present we see no sign of demand slowing down.”
