Tesoro in Mexico taking road less traveled
Tesoro Resorts says the first three properties of its growing enterprise located in Ixtapa, Manzanillo and Los Cabos all offer off-the-beaten-track adventure.
“We chose to develop properties outside of the major tourist zones because there is a breed of traveler emerging that is looking for a new perspective on Mexico,” said Wayne Merritt, Tesoro Resorts’ vice president of operations.
“Our goal is to provide luxurious and affordable accommodations while our guests experience the essence of Mexican culture — something that’s difficult to do in the big tourist destinations,” he added.
The recently renovated Tesoso Manzanillo is a 331-room resort rising above the historic La Audiencia cove. It’s a stone’s throw from the Sierra M Mountains and is known for its sail fishing.
Tesoro Ixtapa’s 170-room resort is near the quaint fishing village of Zihuatanejo and the powdery beaches of Playa del Palmar.
Tesoro Los Cabos is on the Cabo Marina. Rooms there were recently renovated in what the owner calls “a minimalist Mexican flair.”
