Texan arrested in airplane bomb prank
A 20-year-old Texas many said it was only a prank when he planted a bomb threat note on a gum wrapper.
Another passenger found the note on a Southwest Airlines flight, causing an evacuation of the plane and a search at the Houston airport.
The note read: “There’s a bomb on the plane.” It was accompanied by a happy face drawing.
A friend of Elias Jeremiah Cervantez said the two thought it was nothing more than a dumb joke.
But Cervantez faces up to five years in prison and a fine of $250,000.
