Thai MotoGP to go ahead

Monday, 23 Feb, 2020 0

Thailand’s Sports Authority has assured the country’s race fans the Thailand MotorGP will go ahead as planned.

Having consulted with the ministry of public health’s department of disease control,  the race will take place next month at the Buriram circuit.

There are strict preventive measures in place, organisers say, in response to concerns over the spread of the COVID-19 outbreak.

Race weekend takes place on 20-22 March.

The decision to go ahead has been supported by governing body FIM and MotoGP marketing organisation Dorna Sports.

The Tourist Authority of Thailand recently launched a guide for organisers of major sports, entertainment and business events.

It stipulates all participants must wear a badge or sticker to show they have passed primary screening.

All attendees must wear a mask and receive information on how to wear the mask and dispose of it properly.
