Thailand has officially suspended the start the planned tourist fee until 2026.
Last week it gave clarity on the fee after several implementation delays and temporary suspensions.
The entry fee for international tourists won’t now be implemented until mid-2026.
It comes as Thailand tourism is seeing a blip amid concerns over the economy.
The tourist fee was first approved in 2023 at THB300 (€7.50),.
Assistant Tourism Minister Chakrapol Tangsutthitham confirmed it would be shelved for now due to the current market conditions.
“We are delaying implementation until tourism demand rebounds,” he said.
