Thailand bus crash kills 14
A bus crash has killed 14 people in Thailand and split part of the double decker vehicle in half.
It veered off the road in Prachuap Khiri Khan, in Southern Thailand.
Dozens more were injured.
Prachuap Khiri Khan is a popular tourism area for exploring its caves, hiking trails and beaches.
Authorities haven’t yet released names or nationalities of the victims, with some still to be identified.
Emergency services spent ‘several hours’ freeing the dead and injured from the bus crash wreckage.
There has been no word on the condition of the 32 injured passengers.
The reason for the accident is still being investigated, however police believe driver fatigue may be a cause.
The driver survived but was badly injured.
Thailand has very poor road safety standards with 15,000 fatalities on Thailand’s roads last year.
That is over eight times higher than the UK’s traffic accident death rate.
