The airport arrival and departure – the worst part of long haul flying!

Thursday, 19 Nov, 2007 0

The worse part of any a flight whether it is short, medium or long haul is always the arrival, the often marathon brisk walk from the gate to the airport, the distance often making you feel like they are in different countries, the lining up at immigration, the formalities, the wondering if your bags have arrived, the stress of the beagle sitting down by our bags, the customs, the agriculture……..and so forth ………..I can feel the stress coming on right now

Well, Singapore has it all sorted, in true Singaporean efficiency and style of course with a really fabulous service called JetQuay, which does away with all the that hassle and stress and yes of course while it is not free, the price is worth every second.

Right as you walk off the aircraft, if they were any closer they would be on board,  you are greeted by your JetQuay hosts, who have golf style buggies [pictured right  imagine being greeted by this fleet and your name!] waiting right at the gate, ready to whisk you away to airport paradise!

So, where is this airport paradise?

Right in the heart of Singapore’s Changi Airport!

After The Mole’s arrival and speedy transfer in buggies right through the terminal whizzing past all those Singapore Airlines Suite and Business Class passengers [yes The Mole was travelling in economy and it was excellent], just like royalty, you are whisked way to a private airport terminal, the JetQuay terminal an oasis of no stress and hassle, a waiting cup of tea or even champagne or beer, time to check your emails if you must.

Oh and what is happening to all the formalities and your bags while you are doing all this much less stressful stuff?

You simply hand over your documents at a totally hassle and queue-free desk resign yourself to  a comfy chair in one of JetQuay’s lounges [pictured left] , while the JetQuay people do all the work, clearing you through immigration, even collecting your bags from the carousel and bringing them right to the JetQuay terminal.

Amazing!

The great thing about JetQuay’s amazing service is that anyone can take advantage of it and it is not expensive, well The Mole did not think so, offering great service for anyone arriving by scheduled carrier, transiting trough Singapore or for example the wife and kids travelling on their own, an elderly relative or of course, the main target, the business or MICE traveller, who wants a seamless entry or transfer…..they can also meet and greet whole conference groups.

You can even arrange to arrive early or meet a transiting colleague for a meeting, with a wide range of meeting facilities available from a very smart board room and smaller private meeting rooms.

JetQuay even includes very high speed internet access, a gymnasium [pictured right] , spas and treatment rooms,

And for those who have few hours stopover and want to catch a few zzz’s, there are private bedroom which looked very cosy to me!

Retail prices start at around $S150 for arrivals and $S350 for departures, as we were told there is more work on departures but a simple meet and greet a the gate without access to the JetQuay lounge can cost as little as $S35.

PCO’s and travel planners should contact JetQuay for wholesale prices and more information and contact details are available from www.jetquay.comsg

The only way to arrive and depart in Singapore!
