The best deluxe accommodation in Australia?

Monday, 10 Mar, 2008 0

Melbourne’s Crown Promenade Hotel has again been awarded one of the highest honours in the Australian tourism industry, winning the Qantas Australian Tourism Awards for Deluxe Accommodation.

Nine hundred tourism operators and industry leaders from across Australia attended the awards which were part of a gala evening of celebrations in Canberra on Friday 29 February 2008.

Minister for Tourism and Major Events, Tim Holding, congratulated Victoria’s tourism operators and said they’ve done exceptionally well to be recognised among the nation’s best.

“We have worked hard to promote our tourism industry which is now worth $10.9 billion to our economy – up more than 50 per cent since 1999.”  “These businesses are the cream of Victoria’s tourism industry and have done exceptionally well to be named among the nation’s best against tough competition from all the other states and territories,” Mr Holding said.

The prestigious Awards salute the tourism industry’s leading operators, businesses and individuals and reinforce the enormous value of tourism to the community, highlighting the great experiences on offer across Australia and recognise the hard work of tourism operators who go that extra step to provide guests with a quality and memorable experience.

“People are the heart and soul of any hotel and Crown Promenade certainly has great people – people who work hard day after day and are committed and passionate about the hotel,” said Greg Moore, General Manager of Crown Promenade Hotel.

Peter Crinis, Executive General Manager of Crown Hotels added,” We are extremely pleased to be recognised for our dedication and continuing efforts to promote tourism at both local and international levels.”  “As part of the Crown Entertainment Complex, we have an extensive range of facilities and services, to create that extra special and unique experience for our guests.”

As the winner of the Melbourne Airport 2007 Victorian Tourism Awards, held late last year, Crown Promenade Hotel competed against other winners from across Australia to emerge the best in the Deluxe Accommodation category.

Established in December 2003, Crown Promenade Hotel features 465 contemporary and stylish rooms including 18 studios and 3 suites. Designed to be functional and for relaxation, all rooms offer magnificent city or bay views. Facilities include Melbourne’s only purpose-built and fully flexible Crown Conference Centre, Mesh restaurant, Tonic bar and The Deck, a leisure centre with a 25-metre infinity indoor heated pool plus a café with wireless internet technology. Strategically located near the Central Business District and leisure precincts, the award-winning hotel is part of the Crown Entertainment Complex with more than 40 restaurants and bars, 24-hour world-class casino, cinemas, retail and entertainment facilities.
