The Breakers: 15% commissions

Sunday, 12 Apr, 2004 0

The Breakers Palm Beach has a summer promotion offering 15% commissions, according to Christrophe Dagassan, director of leisure sales.

“From July 27 through September 8, we’re offering agents 15% with no exceptions,” he said.

He estimates agent and tour operators account for almost one third of bookings at the famous Florida resort.

Bookings are up for European travelers, Mr Dagassan said.

The historic Breakers, which was originally built in 1926, draws heavily from the South Florida market, particularly in the lower-priced summer season.

The summer season, Mr Dagassan said, generally runs from 27 June to 8 September. The winter or peak season is from the end of December through mid-April.

It’s not uncommon for the Breakers to be fully booked on weekends.
