The Carolinas grants a golfing wish for Worcester agency
Spires Travel, an independent travel agency based in Worcester, is off the Open championship at Royal Liverpool this Thursday.
It answered correctly the question ‘Where will the 2024 US Open Men’s competition be held?’ (Pinehurst, North Carolina), winning the two tickets courtesy of Discover South Carolina and Visit North Carolina .
The agency has been operating for 23 years and owned by Paul Knapper for the last seven years.
The shop is quite unique as it is based inside the reception area of Heart of Worcestershire College/
It was originally set up as a training facility for the Travel & Tourism students that attend the college.
Spires still take four students from the course each year on twelve months work experience.
In fact current staff member Rhiannon Simpson was a student from the Travel & Tourism course.
Paul has played golf for around 20 years but like many of us, doesn’t play as often as he would like.
“This will be my first time attending the Golf Open and I can’t wait for Thursday!’ said Paul.”
