The Chedi Club, Ubud launching hot air balloon flights
Bali luxury resort The Chedi Club Tanah Gajah Ubud is hoping to see guest satisfaction soar even more with the introduction of Bali’s first hot air balloon ride.
It anchors a 23-metre hot air balloon in its rice paddies for rides..
General manager Deasy Swandarini says it is the first activity of its kind in Bali.
"A balloon is exactly the way to see Ubud from on high. You might capture the same images with a drone, but seeing it with your own eye is something else entirely," said Swandarini.
The balloon rises 50 metres above the resort’s rice fields on a tether to give guests wide-ranging views of Mt. Agung and Ubud’s expansive rice fields.
Multiple flights suitable for two adults and up to two children are scheduled at dawn, in the late afternoon and evening and just after moonrise to take advantage of the changing scenery.
Flight duriation is from five to seven minutes and costs US $150 for each morning and afternoon trip, with breakfast or afternoon tea for two included.
The final balloon ascent of the day includes dinner for two adults and is priced at US $200.
The Chedi Club will offer the adventure from June to November.
