The Friendly Skies in Iceland and Scandinavia

Tuesday, 25 Nov, 2008 0

Iceland continues to be this season’s greatest travel bargain. Iceland’s Scandinavian neighbors may now be more accessible to the US traveler as well. In the spirit of goodwill and thanks, Icelandair offers a “Thank You” to their Scandinavian friends, with special Unity fares to Denmark, Norway and Sweden when booked by Thanksgiving 2008.

No one country has felt the effects of the current global economic environment more than Iceland. Their difficult situation has been a noticeable benefit for visitors, but a struggle for the neighboring Scandinavian nation in search of financial relief.

In an effort to unify Scandinavia and help with Iceland’s economic condition, the Scandinavian countries including Norway, Sweden and Denmark have banded together along with the IMF to financially boost the economy of Iceland!
Obviously the citizens of Iceland greatly appreciate the assistance and look forward to strengthening their economy once again.

As a way of saying “Thank You” and acknowledging their unity with Scandinavia, Icelandair is now offering visitors to the countries of Scandinavia a special offer across the board with Icelandair’s Unity Fares!

Travelers can now experience the wonder and excitement of the Scandinavian region with Icelandair flights to Oslo, Stockholm, Copenhagen and Reykjavik for only $399*. The added benefit for US travelers is that with the strong dollar against the Scandinavian currencies, these destinations have become warmly inviting, giving consumers more than twice the spending power compared to previous years.

Fares are valid for travel through March 31, 2009 and must be booked between Monday November 24, 2008 and Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 27, 2008.

In addition to Scandinavia, Icelandair offers service to Iceland from Boston, New York-JFK, Minneapolis/St. Paul (seasonal), Orlando Sanford, Halifax and Toronto (seasonal). Connections through Icelandair’s hub in Reykjavik are available to more than 20 destinations in Scandinavia, Great Britain and Continental Europe. As always, passengers can stopover in Iceland on the way to or from our European destinations at no additional airfare.

Prices quoted are exclusive of applicable taxes and official charges by destination of approximately $100-190 per person, including September 11th Security Fee.
